Today, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) announced it has awarded $107 million to seven organizations as part of the Community Care Expansion (CCE) Program. These investments will increase residential care settings for seniors and adults with disabilities who require long-term care support, with priority for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness who are applicants or recipients of Supplemental Security Income/ State Supplementary Payment (SSI/SSP) or cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI). These funds are projected to create 452 new beds/units for older adults and adults with disabilities, who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
To date, CDSS has awarded $464.1 million of the $570 million available for CCE Capital Expansion projects. CCE program grantees and awards will continue to be posted on the CCE data dashboard on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted. For more information on today’s announcement, you can click here.
