The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) is pleased to announce that award letters have been issued for over $186 million in funds for the Community Care Expansion (CCE) Preservation program, with funds awarded to 34 participating counties.
The CCE Preservation funds will be used by participating counties to preserve existing licensed residential adult and senior care facilities currently serving applicants or recipients of Supplemental Security Income/State Supplementary Payment (SSI/SSP) or Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI), including those who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The CCE Preservation Funds are available for Operating Subsidy Payments (OSP), which will help preserve and avoid the closure of residential care facilities by covering operating deficits, such as those related to staffing and payroll, utilities, insurance, and building maintenance. The CCE Preservation program will also fund Capital Projects (CP), which will pay for critical repairs or required upgrades to preserve facilities and prevent closure.
